The European Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) aims to reduce packaging waste and promote sustainability. It applies to all relevant packaging products, including consumer and industrial packaging – which also includes load carriers such as pallets and boxes.

The PPWR requires 40% of all transport packaging material to be reusable by 2030 and by 2040 the rate of re-useability has to be at 70%.
