Climate change is a defining challenge for our time, and logistics plays a significant role in shaping how we respond. During Global Goals Week, at Faber Group we highlight our commitment to SDG 13, Climate Action, by advancing practical, scalable solutions that reduce emissions across supply chains.
At Faber Group, carbon reduction is not treated as a separate initiative. It is embedded into our operations, shaping the way we design systems, collaborate with partners and manage the movement of load carriers throughout Europe. Climate priorities are considered both in our everyday decisions and in our long-term strategy.
Minimising our own environmental footprint begins with applying smart logistics principles. Route optimisation, a transition to electric vehicles and the use of lower-emission fuels such as HVO are just some of the ways we are working to reduce transport-related emissions. In France, the integration of rail through intermodal transport further improves carbon performance over longer distances.
Impact beyond our own operations
These efforts go hand in hand with the impact we create for customers. By enabling pallet pooling and supporting it with digital tracking, we improve transport flows, reduce empty mileage and avoid emissions tied to single-use packaging or inefficient logistics systems. This contributes directly to improved supply chain efficiency and supports reductions in Scope 3 emissions.
To guide our efforts, we have set clear targets for 2030. We aim to reduce our own Scope 3 emissions per unit by 30% and help our customers avoid at least 58 kiloton of CO2 each year. These goals reflect our commitment to delivering shared impact across the value chain.
Extending lifecycles, reducing demand
Our approach also includes circular practices that support long-term reductions. By reusing pallets and crates and working with partners such as Scholz on reverse logistics initiatives and alternative fuel initiatives, we extend the lifespan of materials and reduce the demand for new production.
Responding to climate change requires a consistent, coordinated effort across all areas of our business. At Faber Group, we are working to integrate carbon reduction into the entire logistics chain, from depot to destination and every step in between.
